Zamis is an independent ready-to-wear atelier in Lisbon. We design one considered collection a year in wool, linen and silk — and make every piece within walking distance of the studio.

Our story

From a tailor’s back room

Every buttonhole on a Zamis coat is finished by hand — around forty minutes each.

“We wanted clothes that get better the longer you keep them.”

— Inês Duarte, founder

Zamis began in 2019 in a former tailor’s workshop in Graça, with one cutting table, two sewing machines and a stubborn idea: make fewer pieces, make them properly, and keep making them.

Every pattern is still drafted by hand on brown paper. We buy cloth from family mills in Biella, Guimarães and Como, cut it in Lisbon and finish each seam on the same street. Nothing is seasonal for the sake of it — a coat stays in the collection until we can make it better.
